Strobe light - engine blocking - Automotive Tools
The strobe lamp is an essential tool for the engine setting (adjustment made by modifying the position of the ignition distributor). Our xenon lamps generate a bright blue/white light that we can see by daylight and even in the most lighted workshops.
Object of the engine setting:
In order to the spark in each cylinder happen at the desired time to have the most efficient ignition possible.
This varies a lot according to the engine conditions. Including on the most modern vehicles, the precise adjustment of the ignition is essential. However, numerous aspects of adjustment of the engine are now carried out by the operating engine system.
How does a strobe lamp works?
A bright flash of light happen at the same time as the ignition spark. This light up the wedging needle, the landmark on the spinning engine and immobilize “the image” at that moment.
By examining the landmarks of the wedging, you can see the position of the engine at the time of the spark. The initial adjustment is generally made in slow-motion.
